W.I. Dykes Library Receives Gift from Houston Association of Certified Fraud Examiners

Last Wednesday, the Houston Area Association of Certified Fraud Examiners (ACFE) student relations director Katherine Avery Guillot and university liaison Bob Barr visited UHD. The Houston Area ACFE has made a gift to the W.I. Dykes Library to create a Houston Area ACFE collection of books and publications on fraud-related topics, and to support other related purchases and expenses.

"The Houston Area ACFE is proud to support local universities through donation of fraud materials, assistance in creating student chapters, delivery of presentations, and participation in other university outreach opportunities. The Houston Area ACFE looks forward to forming a strong partnership with the University of Houston-Downtown," Avery Guillot said.

Pat Ensor, Director of the W.I.Dykes Library, accepted the gift and was joined by students, faculty and staff, grateful both for this donation and the Houston Area ACFE's willingness to partner in future activities.

The UHD community is welcome to visit the display at the fifth-floor entrance to the W.I. Dykes Library, view the available resources, and learn about ways that students and faculty can interact with the Houston Area ACFE.
