The name of the event said it all—Walk 2 Vote. The University of Houston-Downtown's Student Government Association led its annual stroll to the polls on Wednesday, Oct. 25. Students gathered on the South Deck for fun pre-voting activities including music, food and a mechanical bull ride. Community partners for the event included KTRK ABC13, KXLN Univision 45, Mi Familia Vota, and the National Association of Latino Elected and Appointed Officials (NALEO). UHD President, Dr. Juan Sánchez Muñoz delivered opening remarks. Following the festivities, students made the procession to cast their ballots at the Harris County Tax Office.
