Volunteers Needed for Saturday's Cap and Gown Reception

UHD will host the second edition of the Cap & Gown Reception in honor of our fall graduation candidates on Nov. 22 and 23.

We still need volunteers to serve as hosts to help make this event successful and memorable for these UHD students. During the reception, graduation candidates will be inducted as alumni, learn about becoming involved former students, receive information about commencement, pick up their caps and gowns, and enjoy light refreshments.

We are asking for alumni, faculty and staff volunteers to serve as hosts, assist in cap and gown distribution, attend our decorating table and other similar duties. There will be two receptions to accommodate the nearly 1,400 candidates this fall. The first session, from 6-9 p.m. Friday, Nov. 22, already has the necessary number of volunteers. But more people are needed for the second reception, which will be held from 4-7 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 23, for students from the College of Public Service and the College of Business. Festivities will begin in the Coffee House, move to the Auditorium, and end in A300.

For additional information about this tradition, please contact Jaha Williams at 713-221-8184 or williamsjah@uhd.edu.
