A UHD volleyball team has secured the top seed in the Houston Club Sports Conference (HCSC) tournament for the first time since 2006.

The UHD Blue team defeated Houston Baptist University Wednesday with scores of 23-25, 25-17, 25-14, and 25-21 before a rowdy crowd. The Gators (5-0) were playing without injured starter Brittany Goff. Coach Alicia Nava made adjustments after the first set, which resulted in the Gators shutting down HBU in three straight sets.

Both of the UHD teams, Blue and White, will play in the HCSC Championship Tournament Sunday, April 14, at the Student Life Center beginning at 10 a.m.
