The College of Public Service’s Center for Public Service & Community Research welcomes Dr. Prince Solomon for its vitalvoices event, “Modern Day Slavery: Social Work & The Caste System in India” 11 a.m. – 12:30 p.m., Friday, Feb. 25, CPS Room C229.Dr. Prince Solomon

Dr. Prince Solomon is an Assistant Professor of Social Work and Coordinator of Field Education at Madras Christian College, India and a Visiting Scholar at the University of Michigan’s School of Social Work. With more than 20 years of experience in teaching and training postgraduate students in the Department of Social Work at Madras Christian College. He also serves as Field Work Coordinator for the College’s Social Work program and Dean of Student Affairs for the College. Solomon is active on various forums, committees of government and non-profit organizations. He has trained over 12,000 individuals ranging from grassroot-level workers, students, teachers to magistrates, police departments, child protection officers and government officials in the areas of leadership, empowerment, soft skills development and community development. Solomon continues to work towards inclusion, social justice and empowerment of vulnerable communities.
