Vaccination, COVID Testing Opportunities

Greetings UHD Community,

We hope this message finds you well. As part of our commitment to the health and safety of our UHD Community, the University of Houston-Downtown will soon offer no-cost vaccination and COVID-19 testing opportunities.

Curative Kiosk Provides Testing

Through a partnership with Curative, UHD will begin offering COVID-19 testing through a kiosk located outside the Student Life Center beginning May 26.

UHD’s testing will be free of charge and available to the university community and the public from 8 a.m.- 6 p.m. Monday through Friday. Persons may sign up for appointments through the Curative portal and must then check-in online before their visit.

To make an appointment, click on the links below:

Presentation of a photo identification and insurance card is suggested when arriving for testing, but not required. After persons are tested at the kiosk, they will receive their results through e-mail and text message. In addition, there is no limit to testing frequency.

UHD, H-E-B Hosting Vaccination Event

UHD and H-E-B are partnering to offer free vaccinations of the first dose of the Moderna vaccine on June 9, with the second shot being administered on July 7. UHD’s Welcome Center will serve as the vaccination site between 9 a.m. and 12 p.m. on both dates. Registration is required.

On the day of the vaccinations, those with insurance benefits will need to bring a copy of their insurance card. Those without insurance will still be able to be vaccinated, but will need to provide their Social Security number on their consent forms per government guidelines.

Our UHD Community is doing a great job of staying well and staying safe. We encourage those on campus to take advantage of these services in keeping UHD safe.
