UPDATE: Official Homecoming Week Schedule of Events Now Available

University of Houston-Downtown Homecoming 2014The University of Houston-Downtown will have its inaugural homecoming celebration Oct. 20 - 25. Sponsored by Sports & Fitness, Student Activities, Campus Activities Board (CAB) and Student Government Association (SGA), homecoming week festivities will include daily themes, faculty vs. student tournaments and a "Gators Got Talent" karaoke showcase, among other events.

With the University's upcoming 40th anniversary in mind, the theme for Homecoming 2014 is "We are Gators: Past, Present and Future." The past will be represented by the UHD alumni who are invited to return to their alma mater for this historic occasion. The current students, faculty and staff will represent the present spirit of UHD, as they welcome the future Gators who will visit the University during Saturday's open house.

On Thursday, Oct. 23, the first homecoming court and royal monarch will be crowned at the semi-formal ball and coronation ceremony. Faculty, students and staff are invited to vote online for one of the ten candidates for the royal court; voting is open between now and Oct. 13 at 11:59 p.m.

UHD Homecoming Week will culminate on Saturday with the Fall Family Festival, tailgating and the men's and women's basketball games against Lone Star College-North Harris.

Students, faculty and staff are also invited to post photos, comments and updates on Facebook, Instagram and Twitter, with #UHDHC14.
