UHD Welcomes UHS Board of Regents to Campus Nov. 16

For the first time since 2010, the University of Houston System Board (UHS) of Regents will conduct committee meetings and its full Board meeting at the University of Houston-Downtown (UHD).

The Board will visit campus on Thursday, Nov. 16 and hold its meetings in the Welcome Center's Milam and Travis Rooms.

A schedule of the day's meetings is as follows:

9 a.m. - Endowment Management Committee Meeting

10 a.m. - Audit and Compliance Committee Meeting

11 a.m. - Academic and Student Success Committee Meeting

12: 45 p.m. - Facilities, Construction and Master Planning Committee Meeting

1:30 p.m. - Finance and Administration Committee

2:30 p.m. - Board of Regents Meeting

Meetings are open to the public and will broadcast live here.

The Board is the governing body of the UH System, which includes UHD, the University of Houston, University of Houston-Clear Lake, University of Houston-Victoria, University of Houston Sugar Land, University of HoustonUniversity of Houston-Victoria Katy, and Houston Public Media (KUHF 88.7 FM and HoustonPBS).

The Board includes nine members, including UHD alumna Paula M. Mendoza, and a Student Regent. Members and officers are as follows:

  • Roger F. Welder
  • Durga D. Agrawal
  • Paula M. Mendoza

  • Neelesh C. Mutyala, Student Regent

UHS Chancellor Dr. Renu Khator will be in attendance along with members of the UH System leadership team. Texas Higher Education Coordinating Board Commissioner Dr. Raymund Paredes will also be among the guests visiting UHD that day.

"Hosting the governing structure of our System and a higher education leader such as Commissioner Paredes is a singular privilege for UHD."
