UHD Week of Welcome (WOW) Highlights

The University of Houston-Downtown is welcoming students back for the Fall 2021 semester with an Olympic-themed Week of Welcome.
Throughout the week, students have a chance to meet fellow gators, get familiar with the campus, and learn more about various UHD departments and services.
Free giveaways, including T-shirts, masks, keychains and other Gator gear, are being offered throughout the week as well as a variety of fun activities.
On Tuesday, students even got a chance to get their names printed on custom UHD street signs and nameplates in the College of Sciences and Technology.
“We are so excited to see so many people participating in events on campus and virtually,” said Tremaine Kwasikpui, Director of Student Activities at UHD. “We are excited for the rest of the week and pleased with how receptive students have been to Week of Welcome.”
Here are some of the events planned for the rest of the week:
- Free Vaccine Event hosted by H-E-B on Aug. 26
- Daily Gator Scavenger Hunt with gift card giveaways
- Comedy, Music, and Cultural Events
