UHD Website Improvements Scheduled, Aug. 17

Website PreviewThe University of Houston-Downtown (UHD) has undergone a fair share of construction over the past year. Now, one of its primary gateways is experiencing some renovations.

Starting Wednesday, Aug. 17, online visitors will notice several design enhancements to the UHD website.

Upgrades to the website are being made with an eye toward simplifying the online experience for prospective students and increasing the visibility of UHD news and events.

The upcoming changes will build on improvements made earlier this year in April and July. Soon, UHD.edu visitors will observe these changes:

  • The website header will be more compact and easy to read.
  • The links that prospective students need in order to take their first steps at UHD will be moved to the top of the page (Apply, Visit, Request Information).
  • A prominent hero image that better promotes the University will be added to the page.
  • More prominent placement of news and events on the home page.

No links on the current UHD home page have been removed although some have been relocated. Links relevant to current, students, faculty and staff will move the lower half of UHD's home page. These will include:

  • Text only
  • Blackboard
  • IT Help Desk
  • Emergency Info
