UHD to Host Taiwan-Texas Higher Education Forum

Educators from across Texas and from Taiwan will converge at UHD Friday, Oct. 2, for the Taiwan-Texas Higher Education Forum. The goal of the forum is to increase international cooperation and student mobility in higher education in Texas.

Speakers at the forum will include Hsiao-Ming Wang, professor in the Department of Criminal Justice and director of the Bayou Connection Program at UHD. Wang will give the opening remarks. Ed Hugetz, provost of UHD, will give the greeting. The keynote speaker will be Paul Chu, executive director of the University of Houston's Texas Center for Superconductivity. Leading panel presentations will be Max Liu, director of international education at Ming Chuan University in Taipei.

Representatives from the University of St. Thomas, the University of Texas Health Science Center at Houston, UT-San Antonio and UT-Dallas will join representatives from Taiwan at the forum.
