UHD to Host Food Drive for Displaced Louisiana College Students Friday

Food distribution

The University of Houston-Downtown is grateful to serve Louisiana college students affected by Hurricane Ida.

Today, from noon to 2 p.m. UHD will be hosting a food drive for displaced students in the Student Activities Office located in S-204 in One Main Building.

In addition, students showing a student ID from the University of New Orleans, Southern University of New Orleans, Xavier University, Delgado Community College, Dillard University, Southeastern Louisiana University and Nicholls State University will receive a $50 gift card to use at any H-E-B Grocery Store in Texas.

UHD will also provide any students from the above-listed schools with a food voucher to use in our cafeteria. Students will need to go to the UHD Cashier’s Office located on the third floor of One Main Building and show their current student ID or driver’s license to receive the voucher.

Starting on Wednesday, Sept. 8, UHD will offer $50 prepaid reloadable ID cards for students to use on our campus in our cafeteria.

Signs will be posted near the UHD visitor parking garage and Metrorail entrance to direct students to the Student Activities Office.

Visitor parking is available at 201 Girard Street Houston, TX 77002. For a map of one main building, click this link.
