The UHD Fall 2012 Commencement exercises will be held at Minute Maid Park, home of the Houston Astros, on Sunday, Dec. 16. The processional will begin at 12:10 p.m. and the ceremony at 1:00 p.m.

Students who have applied for graduation and plan to walk in the commencement ceremonies must report to Minute Maid Park promptly at 10:30 a.m. on the day of the event to receive final instructions, check-in and line up. Students should use the Atrium Entrance. Family and guests must use the Right & Center Field Entrances. Tickets are not needed for entrance into Minute Maid Park.

Entrepreneur Farouk Shami, founder and chairman of Farouk Systems, Inc., which manufacturers the world-renowned brands BioSilk and CHI, will serve as guest speaker at commencement. UHD students recently collaborated with his company on a marketing research project to gauge product loyalty and customer feedback.

The student speaker will be Danielle Picklesimer, who is graduating with a bachelor's degree in applied mathematics.
