UHD to Celebrate International Education Week 2014

iew_logo_2As a part of UHD's celebration of Citizenship month, the campus will host a series of global awareness events, guest speakers, a study abroad fair and a film screening of "A Lesson Before Dying" Nov. 17-20 in celebration of the 15th annual International Education Week.

International Education Week is an opportunity to celebrate the benefits of international education and exchange worldwide. This joint initiative of the U.S. Department of State and the U.S. Department of Education is an effort to promote programs that offer Americans a global prospective and to attract students from abroad to study and share experiences in the United States.

Below is a schedule of events for the week.

Monday, Nov. 17

• Global Awareness Game, Gail Kellesberger, Foyer area, 10:30 a.m. - 12 p.m.

• International food, Foyer area, 12 p.m. - 1 p.m.

Tuesday, Nov. 18

• International food, Foyer area, 11 a.m. - 11:30 a.m.

• Student panels, Study abroad trips, A300: Houston Room, 11:30 a.m. - 1 p.m.

• Talk by Dr. John Hudson, A300: Houston Room, 1 p.m. - 2 p.m.

Wednesday, Nov. 19

• Henna event by HPO, Foyer area, 11 a.m. - 11:30 a.m.

• Indian food, Foyer area, 12 p.m. - 1 p.m.

• Talk by Dr. William Nowak, A300: Houston Room, 1:30 p.m. - 2:30 p.m.

Thursday, Nov. 20

• International food, Foyer area, 11 a.m. - 11:30 a.m.

• Talk by Dr. Vida Robertson, A405, 12 p.m. - 1 p.m.

• Study Abroad Fair, Foyer area, 1 p.m. - 2 p.m.
