UHD Student Health Services Offers Bacterial Meningitis Vaccinations on Campus

Effective Jan. 1, 2012 Texas state law requires incoming students under age 30 to receive a bacterial meningitis vaccination or meet requirements for declining the vaccine before registering for courses.

As a convenience to incoming students, UHD will begin offering the vaccination through UHD's Student Health Services. The vaccination will be administered during the following schedule:

  • 8:30 a.m. - 4:30 p.m. Wednesday and Thursday, Dec. 21 - 22,
  • 9 a.m. - 5 p.m. Mondays through Fridays, Jan. 2 - 16, 2012

Students who elect to receive the vaccination through UHD Student Health Services can attach the vaccination fee to their tuition/fee bill instead of making payment at the time of vaccination. As part of the tuition/fee bill, the vaccination fee may be covered by eligible students who have financial aid awards or payment plans established. The vaccination is offered at a discounted rate of $115 through UHD Student Health Services.

For additional information on the vaccine, visit the UHD vaccination website (www.uhd.edu/meningitis) or contact the UHD Office of Admissions at 713-221-8522 or the UHD Student Health Services 713-221-8137.
