UHD Signs Agreement on Education Exchange

This morning, President Flores renewed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Chien-Sheng Tiao, president of the Central Police University (CPU) of Taiwan in the W. I. Dykes Library's Rockwell Room. Today's agreement recommits the two institutions to create successful education exchange programs, originated in 2005, and initially renewed in 2010.

"These are vitally important documents that will open doors for academic excellence in the advancement and expansion of academic collaboration and exchange of students," Flores said.

The MoU is intended to promote mutual understanding and academic cooperation to enhance relations between the two universities. It will allow the institutions to develop academic and cultural interchange in education, research and other activities. UHD and CPU agree to work together and contribute to the internationalization of higher education.

The signing was witnessed by Kuang-Ming Chang, Ph.D., Dean of CPU; Hsiao-Ming Wang, Ph.D., Criminal Justice Professor and Bayou Program Connection Director; Johanna Wolfe, UHD vice president of Advancement and University Relations; Capt. Greg Fremin of the Houston Police Department; University College Dean Chris Birchak, Ph.D.; James Healy, Associate Director of the Criminal Justice Training Center; and Justo Manrique, Ph.D., associate dean of the College of Business.
