UHD Researchers to Present Evaluation of Local Gang Prevention Program

Faculty and student researchers from the University of Houston-Downtown and the Houston Police Department Gang Unit will deliver preliminary findings from an evaluation of HPD's Gang Resistance Education and Training (G.R.E.A.T.) program at a presentation on Thursday, Sept. 18 at 6 p.m. in the Commerce Street building, room C-100.

G.R.E.A.T. is an evidence-based gang and violence prevention program built around classroom curricula taught by law enforcement officers. The program is intended to prevent delinquency, youth violence and gang membership for elementary and middle school students.
