UHD Ranks as One of the Best Online Insurance Degrees

Online Schools Report (OSR) ranked the University of Houston-Downtown No. 2 out of the “5 Best Online Insurance Degrees” for 2020. The ranking is for a Bachelor’s of Business Administration degree in Insurance Risk Management (IRM).

OSR’s methodology is based on hard data with a system that sums up a college’s merit based on six key statistics—student satisfaction, admission rate, online presence, popularity at school, department size and median debt by program.

The program, housed in the Marilyn Davies College of Business, prepares IRM majors for insurance careers including underwriting, loss control, claims adjusting, insurance appraisers, auditing, risk analysts, brokers/agents, personal financial planners, accounting, finance, technology and marketing.

The IRM industry is one of the fastest-growing international businesses with a predicted 400,000+ job openings in 2020. Students who earn this degree will have diverse opportunities to interact with industry professionals to evaluate different career paths, apply for internships and secure career positions in this dynamic profession.
