UHD Professor Invited to Speak at Zika Virus Conference
University of Houston-Downtown (UHD) associate professor of biology and microbiology Jeffrey Flosi has been invited to speak on the Keynote Panel at the International Zika Virus Conference and Workshop Sept. 28-30 at the Hilton Washington Dulles Airport Hotel in Herndon, Virginia.
Flosi's keynote address is titled "Another Virus without Borders: Notes of a Mosquito Hunter." In addition to being a keynote speaker, he is also presenting in a break-out session titled "Emerging Arboviruses in the Western Hemisphere."
"I am very excited about this opportunity to represent UHD and to talk about mosquito-borne diseases," said Flosi.
The conference will host mosquito-borne diseases experts, distinguished scientists, national and local vector control agencies and health departments who will share information about the Zika Virus infection, replication, pathogens and transmission.
