UHD Presents West African Film Festival, March 4

In commemoration of Black History Month 2016, the Center for Critical Race Studies and Film Studies Program invites faculty, staff and students to the West African Film Festival: Spotlight on Ghana on Friday, March 4, from 6-8 p.m.

This one-of-a-kind event will take place in the Robertson Auditorium (A350) from 6-8 p.m. and will present two short films by West African artists, a short documentary and an animated short.

The short documentary titled HerStory: Educate a Woman, Educate a Nation, documents the experiences of low-income girls striving to become the first females in their families to go to college. The animated short is an historical film titled Akgorkoli: Cause of Hogbetsotso.
