UHD Offers Free Tickets to 'Celebrating Diversity and World Peace' Event

In commemoration of Citizenship Month Houston 2015, UHD is giving away free tickets to "Celebrating Diversity and World Peace." This event celebrates the many ethnic cultures represented in Houston and pays tribute to the 70th anniversary of the end of War World II and the signing of the Charter of the United Nations.

The event will take place Saturday, Nov. 7, at 6 p.m., at Minute Maid Park. Tickets are available to the UHD community and can be picked up in room S990 at the front desk.

The year 1945 saw the end of the most devastating war mankind has ever known but also the establishment of an international treaty that promotes world peace and international cooperation and defends human rights.

As an incredibly diverse university — including people from every imaginable walk of life — UHD values and celebrates diversity and world peace. Diversity allows us to appreciate different cultures, languages, nationalities and cultural aspects of inclusion on a broader level. World peace is our hope for living and working together in an environment of deep mutual respect and trust. Those attributes are apparent in the pursuits of UHD's newly formed United Nations Association Collegiate chapter and the UHD student body, where students study together in harmony and peace, preparing them to be successful global citizens.
