UHD Northwest Update from Interim Provost Ed Hugetz

Dear UHD Community,

A news story was published in the Houston Chronicle today announcing that the University of Houston is discontinuing classes at Lone Star College's University Park campus this fall.

You are likely aware that the University of Houston-Downtown (UHD) Northwest delivers courses to approximately 1,500 students at this same campus. To avoid any confusion regarding today's news, this message is to inform the UHD community that UHD Northwest will continue to deliver courses at Lone Star University Park.

The University of Houston-System is committed to serving the communities of Cypress, Tomball, Spring/Klein, Katy, Waller and The Woodlands. UHD Northwest will continue to provide higher education opportunities in these areas while expanding its academic offerings.

Last fall, UHD Northwest added new classrooms and other amenities for students. Presently, UHD Northwest offers 19 undergraduate and three graduate degrees, as well as graduate certificates from the College of Business.

If you have questions about UHD Northwest, contact Louis D. Evans III, executive director of Off-Campus Locations and Online Coordination, and for more details on UHD Northwest, visit its website.

Sincerely,

Ed Hugetz, UHD Interim Senior Vice President for Academic and Student Affairs and Provost
