The University of Houston-Downtown Night at the Ballpark, on Sept. 19, couldn't have happened on a better evening. The hometown Houston Astros had recently clinched the American League West Championship, so enthusiasm at Minute Maid Park was at an all-time high.

Adding to the energy of the crowd were UHD faculty and staff, who assembled to cheer for the Astros as they dominated the Chicago White Sox 3 - 1. Dr. Juan Sánchez Muñoz, UHD President, threw out the first pitch and had the opportunity to meet players, owner Jim Crane and Orbit the Mascot.
