UHD, Neighborhood Centers Host a Community Read-out

The University of Houston-Downtown is partnering with Neighborhood Centers to present a Community Read-Out, in which UHD community members will read selected excerpts from the book "A Lesson Before Dying" and engage in discussion related to themes in the text.

The event is to be held Thursday, Jan. 22, 2015 from 6-7:30 p.m. at Leon Castillo Community Center, 2101 South Street, Houston, TX 77009.

Individual copies of the book will be available free of charge. This event is sponsored by the Center for Critical Race Studies and The Big Read- a program of the National Endowment for the Arts in partnership with Arts Midwest.
