UHD Moving Operations Online Feb. 15 in Anticipation of Severe Weather

The Houston area is bracing for severe weather as colder temperatures and wintry precipitation is forecast for Monday, February 15.

In anticipation of freezing temperatures and potentially icy roads, UHD’s operations will move 100 percent online on Monday, Feb. 15. The University will remain open virtually, and employees should be prepared to work remotely. Staff members should not report to campus unless notified by supervisors that they are deemed as essential personnel.

Additionally, students should not come to campus on Feb. 15. Student-facing offices will be open virtually on this day. Any in-person appointments should be rescheduled or conducted online on this day.

Further updates will be posted on the UHD website and available through email and social media (Facebook, Twitter). As a reminder, you are encouraged to update your contact information if you have not already done so to ensure timely notifications related to UHD and area weather.

UHD officials, including the Office of Emergency Management, will continue to monitor conditions in Houston and surrounding areas and provide further updates. Faculty, staff and students are encouraged to also be aware of the changing conditions and to exercise caution should Houston experience severe winter weather.
