UHD in the News: July 30, 2015

Here's how UHD is making headlines this week:

Edmund Cueva, UHD professor of classics and humanities and president of the Humanities Education and Research Assn., spoke with the Los Angeles Times regarding National Endowment for the Humanities' "Public Scholars" campaign, an effort to generate books that embody excellent scholarship yet have a solid chance of landing on best-seller lists.

Clete Snell, UHD associate professor of criminal justice, shared with the Houston Chronicle his point of view about the city's proposal to offer bonuses to police officers who agree to reside in districts with the most frequent service calls.

The Katy News featured a story about UHD senior Michellee Gutierrez, who will compete - along with her coach, Assistant Professor Paul Mandell - in the Hispanic Association of Colleges and Universities' (HACU) nationally televised Hispanic College Quiz show in Chicago.
