UHD Hosts Unique Course This Fall

This fall semester, UHD is hosting a unique course "Disparities in Health in America." The course will feature nationally and internationally renowned guest speakers and will examine the social factors that lead to disparities in health and the formulation of public policy to reduce them.

UHD students are eligible to earn three credit hours for the class and departmental approval is no longer a registration requirement. Classes will be held from 5:30 to 8:30 p.m., Tuesdays, beginning Aug. 23.

The course is organized and presented by the Center for Research on Minority Health at M.D. Anderson Cancer Center. Enrollment is open to undergraduate and graduate students of the local Health Disparities Education, Awareness, Research and Training (HDEART) Consortium member institutions, including Rice University, University of Houston, Texas Southern University, University of Texas School of Nursing and the University of Texas School of Public Health.
