UHD Hosting Cybersecurity Presentation May 5

On Friday, May 5, the University of Houston-Downtown (UHD) will host two presentations on cybersecurity. The event is open to the University community and will feature guest speaker Robert Mitchell, a research scientist from Sandia National Laboratories. Mitchell will compare and contrast several high profile cyberattacks from the past year and the lessons learned after these incidents.

Presentation 1:

Title: Recent Cyber Security Events and Future Research Directions

Time and Location: 10-11 a.m., room A436

Presentation 2:

Title: Recent Developments in Linkography Based Cyber Security

Time and Location: 11 a.m. to noon, room A436

Mitchell is currently a member of technical staff at Sandia National Laboratories. He received his Ph.D., M.S. and B.S. from Virginia Tech. Robert served as a military officer for six years and has over 10 years of industry experience, having worked previously at Boeing, BAE Systems, Raytheon and Nokia. His research interests include linkography, moving target defense, computer network operations, network security, intrusion detection and cyber physical systems. Robert has published 19 peer reviewed articles.
