The University of Houston-Downtown will continue to send regular updates to faculty, staff and students regarding the University's recovery from Harvey. See the latest news below:

Important Dates - Tuition Installments, Last Day to Add Classes:

To accommodate our students, UHD has adjusted its academic calendar for the fall 2017 semester and postponed the first tuition installment payment until Oct. 1.

The Revised installment payment dates are as follows for fall 2017: Oct. 1, Nov. 1, and Dec. 1

Last day to add a class: Sept. 8

Consult the revised Academic Calendar for additional details on other important dates.

Financial Aid

If you are a student affected by Harvey, the Office of Scholarships and Financial Aid is designing a process allowing students the opportunity to submit a Special Circumstances Appeal. This appeal could lead to additional financial aid to ensure your continuation this academic term. Please watch for additional information related to the submission process for this appeal request.

In addition, if you have not yet applied for financial aid for the fall semester, it is not too late. Simply go to www.FAFSA.ed.gov to complete the application and use the UHD school code 003612.

Online Services

The UHD website (www.uhd.edu) and its email are operational. UHD's Information Technology team is still working to restore Blackboard, Banner and myUHD, and eServices. Faculty, staff and students will be notified as soon as all online services are up and running.

Campus Reopening Sept. 5

UHD is closed through Labor Day (Sept. 4) and will reopen on Sept. 5.

For the safety of faculty, staff and students, campus access is restricted.

Some faculty and staff members might need to visit the University before Sept. 5. Limited access will be available through Sept. 3. Requests to come to campus should be made through employees' respective vice presidents and/or deans. These requests will be forwarded to UHD Vice President for Administration and Finance David Bradley and UHD President Dr. Juan Sánchez Muñoz for approval. Faculty and staff will need to make arrangements with the UHD Police Department by calling 713-221-8065 prior to arriving on campus.
