UHD Community Invited to Discuss QEP during 'Coffee with the President' Series

Featured imageThe University of Houston-Downtown currently is undergoing the re-accreditation process of the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools Commission on colleges (SACSCOC). The accreditation serves as a mark of the University's quality education and research, and ensures that UHD students have continued eligibility for critical Pell grants, Stafford loans, and work-study opportunities.

As part of this assessment, the University has formed a committee to guide the creation and support of its Quality Enhancement Plan (QEP), a strategy to enhance each UHD student's education through community engagement, service learning, and critical thinking and writing skills.

UHD President Bill Flores aims to ensure that each student, faculty, and staff member has an opportunity to engage in this important process. To that end, his office will host a "Coffee with the President" series during which all are invited to personally discuss the goals of the QEP, next steps in the process, and any other important issues.

The first event in the series will occur on Friday, Feb. 27, from 3-4 p.m. in the 40,000 Windows Cafe, located on the fifth floor of the One Main Building. Attendees should RSVP online.
