UHD College of Business Career Center Launches Fall Career Events

Career fairs and events are great ways to connect university students to potential employers. The University of Houston-Downtown (UHD) College of Business (COB) Career Center is delivering such opportunities by hosting a number of career events during the academic year.

Among these events is the "Gator Resume Dash" on Sept. 7 and 8 on the second floor of UHD's Shea Street Building. Students are encouraged to bring resumes to be swiftly critiqued and reviewed by industry professionals and counselors. Pre-registration is not required. The event will run from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. and 4:30 p.m. to 7 p.m. on both days.

"Gator Resume Dash" is open to all UHD students and will prepare them for the Business Career Fair on Sept. 22 and 23. For more details about COB fall 2016 career events, visit the COB Career Center or call the Center's office at 713-221-5011.

This month, the college kicked off its fall career events with the "2016 Business Internship Mixer." More than 60 business students attended this event and the employer participation increased by 81 percent. UHD's Society for Human Resource Management (SHRM) student organization provided volunteer responsibilities for the day, registering students and employers.
