UHD Chemistry Society Receives American Chemical Society Award

The UHD Chemistry Society is a big deal - and now they have the recognition from the American Chemical Society (ACS) to prove it!

The student chapter at UHD received the Commendable Chapter Award, the second highest chapter award given by the prestigious, national organization. The 2011-12 award winning chapters will be recognized in the November/December issue of "inChemistry" magazine and at the 245th ACS National Meeting in New Orleans, LA.

Feedback from the panel of judges included:

  • "Excellent work with outreach!"
  • "Even your small numbers will have a good impact on your campus and college."
  • "This is a chapter on the rise. There is a sense that this group will succeed in creating a viable ongoing organization."
  • "You have done a phenomenal job this year! I'm very impressed with this club and the obstacles you have overcome this year!"

Congrats UHD Chemistry Society and faculty advisor Michael Matson, assistant professor of chemistry!
