This month, the University of Houston-Downtown is hosting tryouts for its club basketball and baseball team. Aspiring hoopsters and sluggers are encouraged to participate in these tryouts and ultimately represent UHD at games on campus and in the community.

Men's Basketball tryouts begin on Jan. 9 and run through Jan. 27. These tryouts run 7 to 9 p.m. in the UHD Student Life Center. This year, the team will compete in the Houston Club Sports Basketball Conference. Its first game is scheduled for Feb. 19. A registration form is available here.

From Jan. 21 through Feb. 4, students can try out for UHD's Baseball team at McReynolds Baseball Field (5905 Larimer St.). Tryouts will be conducted on Tuesdays and Thursdays between 4 and 6 p.m., and on Saturdays between 10 a.m. and noon. The Gator Baseball team will compete in the National Club Baseball Association. Competition includes club teams from Rice University, Lamar University, Houston Community College and Nicholls State University. Students can register for tryouts here.
