Two Urban Education Alumni Recognized for Teaching Excellence

The Department of Urban Education is proud to announce that two of their alumni recently have been recognized for their excellence in teaching in public schools.

Kimlien Vo is a first year pre-K/kindergarten teacher in Fort Bend ISD. Townewest Elementary has honored her with the "Rookie of the Year" award, and she is one of three finalists competing to receive the "Rookie of the Year" award for the entire Fort Bend ISD.

Tina St. Clair teaches fourth grade at Hicks Elementary in Alief ISD. Not only is Tina a UHD alumna, she also serves as a district partner to the Department of Urban Education by mentoring interns and student teachers. Tina's campus has named her as their "Teacher of the Year," and she is one of four finalists for receiving the same honor at the district level.

Urban Education congratulates Kimlien and Tina on their outstanding accomplishments and wishes them the best as they compete for higher honors at the district level.
