Toll Tag Readers Installed at Academic Building and Shea Street Garages

Parking and Transportation Services and Information Technology are excited to announce that toll tags are now an additional credential to be used to access UHD parking garages. In addition to the proximity card and permit barcode, drivers may have the option to utilize their toll tags to enter and exit. The credential used for entry will not be required for exit.Picture1

These toll tag readers are installed at the Academic Building (exterior lanes) and Shea Street Building garages. This service is completely free. No money will be deducted from toll tag accounts.

To ensure a smooth and hassle-free process, drivers should drive slowly to the parking gate and patiently wait (up to five seconds) for the toll tag to be read. This will provide a seamless access into the garage.

Acceptable Texas toll tags include EZ tag, HCTRA, NTTA, TX Tag, and DNT.

Also, new proximity card readers were recently installed. These readers require the gate access card to be tapped directly on the card reader. The readers may require some time to recognize toll tags and proximity cards.

To register Texas toll tags, visit the Toll Tag Registration page.
