This Saturday! Inaugural Northside Festival at UHD & 9th Annual Tour de Northside Bike Ride

The College of Sciences & Technology (CST) is where you’ll want to be this Saturday, Nov. 12 from 10 a.m. – 5 p.m. when UHD hosts the inaugural Northside Festival.Untitled design

This free event will include the Northside Art Market (curated by Shop Local Market) with food, music, art, and a salsa-tasting contest. The Festival will bring together nonprofits, elected officials, police officers, firefighters, schools, Northside businesses and residents, and the UHD Campus Community in celebration of the Northside neighborhood. Speeches are at noon followed by the Zenteno Spirit Band at 1 p.m.

The day kicks off at 8:30 a.m. at Saint Arnold Brewing Company, 2000 Lyons Street—no, not for drinks, but for the Ninth Annual Tour de Northside with our own President Loren J. Blanchard leading the way as Grand Marshal! Whether you bike 40 miles every weekend or a couple of miles once a month, check your tire pressure and join us for the 10-mile ride to UHD’s CST Building (315 N. Main St.).

Participants may register in advance at www.greaternorthsidedistrict.org or Saturday at 8 a.m. before the Bike Ride begins at 8:30 a.m. The cost for the event is $10 for the ride or $20 for the ride and a T-shirt. All riders are required to wear helmets. The Bike Ride promotes the growth and the future of the Northside community with a tour of the neighborhood—a great place to live, visit, and work.

Tour de Northside and Northside Festival are co-sponsored by UHD, Greater Northside Management District, and Precinct2gether, Inc. to promote the Greater Northside community.
