The University of Houston-Downtown’s homepage is getting a new look. The redesigned homepage will feature a modern design to promote increased visitor engagement, usability and functionality.

The most prominent feature of the homepage makeover is the “full width responsive design,” which will offer a more mobile-friendly interface to accommodate various mobile platforms. The revamped site also has a video component. To note, all navigation and links will remain the same.

“The new UHD website is an important tool for the University Community,” said Elisa Crossland, executive director of University Relations. “It’s about usability, functionality and accessibility. We want every visitor to be able to intuitively navigate our site in every way—from our five academic colleges to an online virtual tour to how they receive their University news.”

This homepage redesign is one of several UHD web projects slated for the next 6 to 12 months. A responsive design of the rest of the UHD website will begin January 2019.

The new UHD homepage launches Thursday, Aug. 16.
