Theatre's "Much Ado About Nothing" is a Hit

UHD theatre is currently presenting William William Shakespeare's delightful romantic comedy, Much Ado About Nothing. There are only four shows left and you don't want to miss it!

Written around 1598, the story takes place in a courtly world that is enjoying a period of carnival and features elements of eavesdropping, mistaken identities, game-playing, music, song, dance, feasting and marriage. Because of its gleeful nature and memorable characters, such as Beatrice, Benedick and Dogberry, the play is a perennial favorite of professional, regional, community and educational theaters alike.

The production is set in an early 19th century California abode by director Kate Pogue, UHD drama lecturer and Shakespeare specialist, in order to resonate with the modern audience.

The remaining performance schedule for Much Ado About Nothing is as follows:

  • Thursday, Oct. 31, 8 p.m.
  • Friday, Nov. 1, 1:30 and 8 p.m.
  • Saturday, Nov. 2, 8 p.m.

Tickets are $5 and will be available from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. at the University Cashier's office on the third floor of the One Main Building. Any unsold tickets will be available at the theater door a half hour before each performance.
