Theatre Presents Classic English Comedy "The Rivals"
By: Mary Ann Cozza
The UHD theatre program will present Richard Brinsley Sheridan's "The Rivals" in eight performances from March 30 through April 7.
"The Rivals" is a delightful, satiric 1775 restoration comedy that introduces the world to Mrs. Malaprop, one of English drama's most famous characters. The plot centers around two young lovers and their network of meddling friends and family. Dealing with heartbreak, love, misunderstanding, jealousy and cases of mistaken identity with a tongue-in-cheek humor, Sheridan's play is a must-see.
