Theatre Presents Award-Winning Play, "Fences"

DSC_5000The University Theatre will present August Wilson's award-winning African-American play, Fences, as its Spring 2014 production. Winning both the Pulitzer Prize and Tony Award in 1987, the play tells the story of Troy Maxon, a restless trash-collector, who wanted to become a professional baseball player, but was banned from doing so because of his race. In addition to the discrimination issue, the play examines such topics as infidelity in marriage and the lack of communication between a father and son. It is a powerful and moving drama that will surely provide you with a memorable theater experience. Featured in the cast of seven are Rachel Dickson, drama lecturer at UHD, and two UHD alumni.

Tickets are available at the university cashier's office on the third floor during regular hours of operation. Any unsold tickets will be available at the theater 30 minutes before each performance. Seating is first-come, first-seated. The cost is $5.
