Susan Kiernan Ahern Speaker Series Set for October

Two unique presenters will speak at the Susan Kiernan Ahern Speaker Series in October.

Amal al-Jubouri, one of the most influential contemporary Iraqi poets and translators, will host a poetry reading at 5:30 p.m. Oct. 4 in the Cullen Robertson Auditorium. She is the author of five poetry collections, including Hagar Before the Occupation, Hagar After the Occupation, newly published in English by Alice James Books.

Valerie Hedquist, art history and art criticism associate professor from the University of Montana, will present "Hey, I Recognize that Painting! Tracing the Fame of Gainsbourough's Blue Boy from Bath, England to the Bathhouses of New York City," at 5:30 p.m. Oct. 25 in the Cullen Robertson Auditorium.
