Students Plant Trees in East Downtown

November is Citizenship Month in Houston and UHD students are participating in several community events. Recently, Gators joined a major urban renewal effort of the Houston International Promenade in East Downtown (EaDo).

Sister Cities of Houston partnered with Trees for Houston and Watershed Market Nov. 16 to kick off the development of the Houston International Promenade, a new public destination where the city's international community can unite and be celebrated.

From UHD, students from the Environmental Club and the Student Government Association participated in the event by planting trees.

UHD is a proud, primary sponsor of Houston's Citizenship Month and Dr. Noel Bezette-Flores, executive director of UHD's Center for Public Service and Family Strengths, serves as a co-chair of Citizenship Month.
