Student Research Conference Scheduled for April 16

Scholars Academy LogoThe 20th Annual University of Houston-Downtown Student Research Conference, scheduled on Friday, April 16 from 9 a.m. - 3 p.m., will showcase special academic projects undertaken by students and recent UHD graduates.

The program will include introductory remarks from Dr. Mary Jo Parker, Executive Director of the UHD Scholars Academy, as well as addresses from two keynote speakers: Dr. Desiree Wilson and Dr. Anna Garcia. The day’s lineup also includes oral presentations and poster sessions summarizing students’ work during the last year.

The Student Research Conference showcases special academic achievements by the Gator Community. Qualifying activities are senior capstone research projects, research projects completed as part of internships, independent or directed study at UHD, poster presenters who have extended their research, upper-level research-oriented lab courses, senior type or graduate level projects, or any other research on- and/or off-campus.

The conference is organized and sponsored by the UHD Scholars Academy with funding from The Brown Foundation, Inc., Nuclear Regulatory Commission Minority Serving Institutions Program grant, and UHD.
