This week, the University of Houston-Downtown hosts its second vaccination event on campus. On June 9, UHD partners with H-E-B to offer the first dose of the Moderna vaccine to students, faculty, staff, family and friends. The second shot will be provided on July 7. 

Vaccines will be administered between 9 a.m. and noon in UHD’s Welcome Center on this day. Registration is required, and everyone who signs up for the vaccine will be entered into a raffle for an Amazon gift card. The deadline to register for this event is 8 a.m., June 9. 

UHD strongly encourages everyone who hasn’t already received the vaccine to take advantage of this week’s event. If you are unable to attend the UHD/H-E-B vaccination event on campus, other opportunities are available throughout the city. 

UHD also is partnering with UTHealth to help ensure the University Community is vaccinated. 

Just as the University has taken measures to help ensure a safe campus, our Gators must also do their part to look out for each other. This includes self-care such as washing hands regularly, social distancing, wearing masks when necessary … and getting vaccinated to help mitigate the spread of COVID-19. 

Although the UHD Community has started to return to campus and local businesses are reopening, COVID-19 is still at large within our city. With that in mind, take advantage of opportunities such as the June 9 event on campus … and don’t miss your shot to keep UHD safe.
