Sports & Fitness Hosts 22nd Annual Awards Banquet
More than 200 students, families and friends were in attendance at the 22nd Annual Sports & Fitness Awards Banquet held on May 13 in UHD's Special Events Center. The banquet honors students for outstanding achievement, dedication, and sportsmanship in the areas of intramural sports, club sports, and fitness. The winners and nominees were selected by the Sports & Fitness staff, coaches, or fellow students on a combination of leadership, sportsmanship, caliber of play and participation.
Intramural sports awards included trophies for championship teams, individual tournament champions, and player of the year for the various intramural leagues. Club sports awards recognized club team members on each team as well as individual awards, including defensive player of the year and player of the year. Fitness awards celebrated individuals who participated in the nearly 40 fitness classes that are offered by Sports & Fitness.
