Shaping the Future of Our University: UHD Reaffirmation 2026

By Adilene Mendoza

Exciting times are ahead as we embark on our journey towards reaffirmation! As we gear up for the review process, we extend a warm invitation to all UHD faculty and staff to become active participants in this transformative endeavor.

What is Reaffirmation?

Every 10 years, institutions accredited by the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools Commission on Colleges (SACSCOC) are required to undergo a review for reaffirmation of accreditation. It’s a comprehensive, rigorous, multi-stage examination encompassing all aspects of our institution's programs, services, and facilities. In 2026, UHD will undergo this crucial examination.

Despite its challenges, the reaffirmation process is indispensable in ensuring that institutions of higher learning effectively serve their students and communities. Ultimately, the investment of effort is invaluable, safeguarding the quality and integrity of education provided by our university.

How can you get involved?

In the months ahead, we will be sharing vital information concerning the reaffirmation process, including details on meeting dates, events, and opportunities for engagement and parts you should—or must—play. Your active participation is essential in ensuring that our university continues to thrive and excel in its mission of delivering excellence in education and service to our community.
