Santo de Mayo 2018

On Sunday, approximately 4,000 runners laced up their best pair of shoes and headed to Saint Arnold Brewing Company for the annual Santo de Mayo 5k. The race, presented by the University of Houston-Downtown, featured live rock n' roll, refreshments and a friendly run on a certified U.S. Track & Field course. Among those participating in the sold-out event were UHD President, Dr. Juan Sánchez Muñoz; his wife, Dr. Zenaida Aguirre-Muñoz; University of Houston-System Board of Regents Secretary and UHD alumna Paula Mendoza; and members of the UHD community.

UHD University Relations and the Marilyn Davies College of Business hosted tents with plenty of popular giveaways (koozies, sunglasses, towels, and more). And, members of UHD's spirit team— Ed-U-Gator and the Gatorettes—wished the runners well and greeted them at the finish line.
