Safety Management Lecturer Earns Coveted Professional Certification

Albert CondelloSafety Management lecturer Albert Condello III reached an important milestone in his career as a safety professional this October. Condello, whose career history includes service as a fire safety instructor, HazMat coordinator and OSHA outreach instructor, received the industry's most coveted recognition.

Condello earned his certification from the Board of Certified Safety Professionals (BCSP). The highly respected certification is awarded by BCSP to indivuiduals who meet extensive eligibility criteria and experience in the safety, health and environmental (SH&E) discipline, and have passed a rigorous examination.

In an increasingly complex industry, Condello's achievement shows a mastery of the core competency required for professional safety practice. He plans to use his CSP experience to adapt and improve the Safety Management program's curriculum. "I am working with Dr. Lea Campbell (Director of Academic Assessment) to ensure that our courses are preparing students to excel in each of the core competencies on the test," he said.

Joining Condello in his training course was his former student Gregori Trojan, CSP ('12). Trojan is developing his career as a Health and Safety Officer with Envirocon, a market leader providing full-service environmental remediation for public and private sector clients across North America.
