Hank Roubicek, UHD professor of communication studies and host of KPFT radio's "So, What's Your Story?," will host a launch event for a book by the same name on Friday, July 17.

Roubicek, who grew up in a family of storytellers, makes a point of cultivating a love for storytelling in those around him, and uses his public radio show as a platform for his students and fellow faculty members to express themselves.

Since 2013, Roubicek has hosted the weekly radio program on Thursday nights at 10 p.m., encouraging guests to engage in human expression, build their communication skills and gain confidence in the process.

The book combines theory and practice along with various exercises and examples, and was composed to serve as either a core or supplementary text. The second edition includes additional online supplements, including audio and video story samples from former students, remarks from the author, and stories told by guests on Roubicek's radio show.

The book launch and signing event will take place at 7 p.m. at Brazos Bookstore.
