Poetry Reading by Renowned Poet Thursday

Renowned poet, Patti Smith, will present a public reading of her work at UHD from 5:30 to 6:45 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 13, in room A436, Academic Building.

Smith is the author of the collections "Blood Dazzler," "Teahouse of the Almighty," "Close to Death," "Life According to Motown," and "Big Towns, Big Talk."

She was also a finalist for the 2008 National Book Award, winner of the first Hurston/Wright Award in poetry, and a four-time individual champion on the National Poetry Slam.
